Witchfinder General soundtrack album release

witchfinder-generalGiven the current climate for all things supernatural and folkloric, particularly those that were revitalised during the ’60s and ’70s, it’s no surprise that the score for Michael Reeves’ highly regarded 1968 horror movie The Witchfinder General will see its first ever release next month.

Paul Ferris’ haunting soundtrack has never been released in its entirety, despite being praised by many as one of the best of the era.

Remastered from the original quarter-inch tape (long presumed lost), and including two “stings” not used on the final soundtrack, the package also boasts liner notes by John Hamilton (author of Beasts In The Cellar: The Exploitation Film Career Of Tony Tenser) and detailed information regarding the film and its music.
