The Shindig! Revue #3 Band Showcase – RiverChild
BEN ADLAM introduces RIVERCHILD the opening act for the third instalment of The Shindig! Revue at The Victoria, Dalston on the 17th August
RiverChild is a solo singer-songwriter based in North London via the bayous of The Deep South, a storyteller in the great folk tradition, tales of heartbreak and longing and the loneliness of the big sky. RiverChild’s voice is rare and distinctive, owing as much to the early millennium indie scene as to the country greats, filled with emotion and belief in every word. The guitar parts are melodic and unfussy, alternating between finger picking and gentle strumming that add real atmosphere to the songs as do the occasional blasts of harmonica.
