The Explorers Club – New Single Premier.
THE EXPLORERS CLUB return with new single “The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore” in tribute to SCOTT WALKER and premier with SHINDIG!
It’s a brave thing to cover what is a genuine classic, The Explorers Club have done this with tenderness and respect, their version of this Walker Brothers hit from 1966 remains faithful to the original with just enough of The Explorers Club sunshine jangle pop to make it their own.

The Explorers Club are a Pop rock project originally from the coast of South Carolina, with a sound sound heavily influenced by the vocal harmony styles and production of The Beach Boys and the Wrecking Crew.
The project is led by Jason Brewer along with a changing group of musical peers that help bring each recording to life. In the last 10 years have released three critically acclaimed albums and have two new records coming in 2020 – these 2 new albums were recorded mostly at Columbia studio A in Nashville – legendary studio where The Byrds, Bob Dylan, Skip Spence and Simon and Garfunkel recorded!
Jason, are you singing the lead? If so you have a very good voice…….reminds me of Barry Manilow (sp) listen to his songs.Very good…….Sara Brewer Hogue
Really love and admire this version. Why was the video taken down?
Hi Kev
The video was removed due to a spelling error, a new version has now been posted.

The depth of sound is amazing on this cover. I love this cover, can’t wait for more from The Explorers Club.
The Walkers’ version wasn’t the original as you suggest — it was written for Frankie Valli by his Four Seasons mates Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio — but it is the definitive treatment of the song. Like this Explorers Club version too.
