You know how a psychedelic experience can make all time—past, present, and future—seem like it’s all been transmogrified into some kind of infinite now? Well, that’s pretty much what the Shindig! editorial team has managed to achieve in aural form in this month’s Transmission. As we skip from 1967 to 2025 with nary a tick of a nervous eyelid, the psychedelic pop, rock, and folk experience (with the odd prog and soundtrack flurry) is unfurled into a timeless mass of head-nourishing oneness. Which perhaps renders null and void the point of asking oneself, “isn’t this month’s pic of the Shindig! team one from the vaults?”
