The stories of myth tell us that the desert is a place of\u00a0transformation where the physical emptiness of the landscape creates a potent\u00a0space for connecting with the invisible and intangible forces of the\u00a0numinous.\u00a0History is full of seekers, artists, mystics and musicians who have travelled\u00a0to the desert to enter into such an experience.\u00a0<\/span>It was after being lead on a pilgrimage through \u00a0\u201cWirikuta\u201d,\u00a0\u00a0the sacred desert of the Wixarika, native to the land the land of north\u00a0west Mexico that Dublin-born Berlin resident Nunutzi was inspired to form Tau,\u00a0meaning Father Sun. A shifting and fluid collaborative project with Nunutzi at\u00a0the helm along with partner-in-sound, Venezuelan-born Gerald Pasqualin, the\u00a0result is Tau\u2019s debut album TAU TAU TAU<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 a wild archaic scream from the heart, woven from a\u00a0seamless thread of prayers, chants, psychedelic invocations, and as\u00a0Nunutzi says \u201csongs of praise\u201d in English, Spanish and Gaelic,\u00a0shaken through\u00a0pre-hispanic drums, bells, shakers, synths and acoustic guitar played \u201cthrough\u00a0an amp with a very shitty pick up that gives a weird sound.\u201d Featuring collaborations with Knox Chandler of Siouxsie & The\u00a0Banshees, Earl Harvin of Tindersticks, \u00a0Nina Hynes and Miss Kenichi, TAU\u00a0TAU TAU<\/em> includes numerous additional vocalists and musicians, all\u00a0of whom make\u00a0their own unique contribution to the celebratory psychedelic folk of Tau.<\/p>\n
