The former Austin Psych Fest announces details of this year’s performers, with a stellar cast of acts old and new lining up behind the reformed 13th Floor Elevators<\/strong><\/p>\n

Carson Creek Ranch near Austin, Texas once again plays host to what has grown from its humble beginnings in 2008 to\u00a0become the biggest and most all-embracing psychedelic rock music festival on the planet. Held over three days between May 8th and 10th, this year’s event sees a\u00a0whole gamut of mind-expanding acts doing their thing\u00a0across three stages: the Reverberation Stage, the Elevation Amphitheatre and the Levitation Tent \u2013 all named in honour of\u00a0this year’s surprise headliners.<\/p>\n

Friday May 8th’s bill includes Tame Impala, Spiritualised, Lightning Bolt, White Fence, The Sword and Holy Wave. Saturday 9th’s decidedly anglophile line-up brings The Jesus And Mary Chain, Primal Scream, Thee Oh Sees, Earth, Nightbeats and Ryley Walker. Sunday 10th offers up The Flaming Lips, The Black Angels, Melody’s Echo Chamber, Eternal Tapestry and The Paperhead before the closing act: the 50th anniversary reformation of the original line-up of Texan psych legends The 13th Floor Elevators (minus the late Stacy Sutherland, of course). A selection of internationally-acclaimed DJs will be blowing what’s left of revellers’ minds in between the bands.<\/p>\n
