With the debris barely settled following the release of their critically acclaimed explosive second album,\u00a0CollectiV<\/em>, and near sold-out spring UK and European tour, testifying rockers Jim Jones & The Righteous Mindhave announced details of brand new, limited edition 7\u201d coloured vinyl single, \u2018Get Down Get With It\u2019. It will be supported by 11 UK gigs in September\u00a0and October.<\/p>\n

Made famous by Little Richard\u00a0and Slade,\u00a0\u2018Get Down Get With It\u2019, will be limited to just 1000copies. Released by Ma\u00a7onic Records\u00a0viaCargo\u00a0on 20th September\u00a0on pink vinyl and backed with a reading of Link Wray\u2019s \u2018Ace Of Spades\u2019, half will be on sale at tour venues, and the remainder will be available in independent record stores.<\/p>\n

Pushing the VU meters well into the red, \u2018<\/strong>Get Down Get With It\u2019is arguably the noisiest and rawest record that Jim Jones has recorded over an illustrious career that has seen him front the legendary bands Thee Hypnotics, Black Moses\u00a0and The Jim Jones Revue. What is beyond debate is that it\u2019s a glorious call to arms guaranteed to get your ass off your seat and your feet on the floor.<\/p>\n

Speaking of the new single, Jim Jones\u00a0says: \u201c\u2019Get Down Get With It\u2019\u00a0became the rallying cry for the\u00a0CollectiV\u00a0<\/em>tour, so it made sense to go back into the studio, turn everything up to 11 and totally rip it up.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continues: \u201cLiars and charlatans have got the world tearing itself apart right now, when really, we should be coming together. Even if it\u2019s just for a few minutes, this absolutely does that and lives up to its name.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jim Jones & the Righteous Mindwill also embark on a UK tour that calls in at Manchester, London, and\u00a0Brighton\u00a0among others. Billed as “An invitation to get down get with it”, the London\u00a0date takes place on 21 September\u00a0at The Garage\u00a0in Highbury. Promising a Saturday night extravaganza with a full supporting cast of special guests and performers, the event is topped off with a 2.30am late night license\u00a0for extended reveling.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had to turn people away when we last played London so we wanted to go to a bigger venue and put on a really special event for our hometown,\u201d explains Jim Jones. \u201cIn addition to support from Ye Nuns, Chrome Mountain and Suzie Stapleton, we\u2019ve got the Shindig!<\/em> magazine\u00a0crew warming things up on the decks, and then rock\u2019n\u2019roll DJs Helene de Joie\u00a0and Las Titis\u00a0to keep the party going into the early hours, as well as dancing from Rebel Skin and more.<\/p>\n

“We’ve followed Jim closely since Thee Hypnotics,” says Jon ‘Mojo’ Mills, “so it’s great to do something together.”<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can also expect some very special guests who we\u2019ll reveal on the night,” adds Jones. \u201cWith tubes and buses running all night and all of Sunday to recover, it\u2019s the perfect night out.\u201d<\/p>\n
