{"id":4016,"date":"2020-07-14T11:35:22","date_gmt":"2020-07-14T10:35:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.shindig-magazine.com\/?p=4016"},"modified":"2020-07-14T11:35:22","modified_gmt":"2020-07-14T10:35:22","slug":"king-gizzard-and-the-lizard-wizard-flying-microtonal-banana-vol-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shindig-magazine.com\/?p=4016","title":{"rendered":"King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard &#8211; Flying Microtonal Banana Vol. 2?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Yesterday antipodean schizo-rockers King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard posted a tiny clip of a new song called &#8216;Honey&#8217; on their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/kinggizzard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Instagram<\/a> and it&#8217;s got Gizzheads&#8217; chins wagging with talk of a follow up to 2017&#8217;s <em>Flying Microtonal Banana &#8211; Adventures Into Microtonal Tuning Vol. 1.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard - Honey teaser\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hoqC-RxHyLg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The short clip features Stu Mackenzie with a backdrop of an orange sunset over suburban rooftops playing, what looks suspiciously like, a microtonal acoustic guitar. The other clues were laid on Shazam, where after &#8220;Shazamming&#8221; the track, a single cover of sorts appeared, but has subsequently disappeared adding to the mystery.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4017\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4017\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4017\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shindig-magazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/images.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/shindig-magazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/images.jpg 225w, https:\/\/shindig-magazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/images-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/shindig-magazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/images-24x24.jpg 24w, https:\/\/shindig-magazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/images-48x48.jpg 48w, https:\/\/shindig-magazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/images-96x96.jpg 96w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4017\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The &#8216;Secret&#8217; cover which appeared briefly on Shazam.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The two features of this cover that are getting the Gizzverse in a spin are the use of the &#8216;Davida&#8217; font which is the same as was used on the cover of <em>Flying Microtonal Banana<\/em> and the musical notes (they are quite hard to see) which appear to be microtonal. The fact that Stu is playing an acoustic guitar has caused some to question whether they may be an acoustic album on the way, a blend of <em>Paper Mache Dream Balloon<\/em> and <em>Flying Microtonal Banana<\/em>.
