On &#8216;The Factory&#8217;, DIMORPHODONS channels his \u201860s pop obsession with an influence in the industrial paintings of L. S. Lowry and what he describes as \u201cThe smoggy, short-distance horizons put to song.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4135\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4135\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4135 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shindig-magazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Dimorphodons_HI-RES-press-shot-4-LANDSCAPE-tiny.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"416\" srcset=\"https:\/\/shindig-magazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Dimorphodons_HI-RES-press-shot-4-LANDSCAPE-tiny.jpg 600w, https:\/\/shindig-magazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Dimorphodons_HI-RES-press-shot-4-LANDSCAPE-tiny-300x208.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4135\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dimorphodons floats in his own space and time.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The backbone of the song was originally recorded by a teenage DIMORPHODONS on an old four-track, and recently re-worked for the EP, representing what DIMORPHODONS describes as \u201cA collaboration between my present self and my sixteen old self.\u201d Within the song\u2019s lyrics are jumps in time, reflecting on paths from different ends of a life both lived and unlived. &#8216;The Factory\u2019s&#8217; accompanying labyrinthine and surrealist video explores the darker, more claustrophobicelements of the song, while also conjuring up a dreamlike evocation of an introvert\u2019s experience of lockdown.
