Don\u2019t go near train tracks, electricity pylons, roads or water because essentially you will die.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To celebrate the fact that these public information films have remained much longer in the conscious than was probably intended, the BFI is showcasing <em>Haunted Generations: The Lingering Legacy Of The Public Information Film<\/em> at the Southbank this December.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Lonely Water (1973)\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xZWD2sDRESk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It ties in nicely with their season on renowned director Peter Greenaway who cut his teeth in the \u201960s at The Central Office Of Information (CIO) \u2013 the home of these little nuggets of horror. With a discussion on how his time at the CIO informed Greenaway\u2019s directorial style, the BFI will also be showing public info classics including <em>After Dark<\/em> and the ultimate, the Donald Pleasance narrated <em>Lonely Water<\/em>.
