{"id":702,"date":"2015-10-15T12:02:19","date_gmt":"2015-10-15T11:02:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shindig-magazine.com\/?p=702"},"modified":"2015-10-15T12:02:19","modified_gmt":"2015-10-15T11:02:19","slug":"the-hanging-stars-endlessly-aimless-premiere-plus-house-on-the-hill-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shindig-magazine.com\/?p=702","title":{"rendered":"The Hanging Stars &#8216;Endlessly Aimless&#8217; premiere plus &#8216;House On The Hill&#8217; video"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Endlessly Aimless by TheHangingStars\" width=\"640\" height=\"400\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?visual=true&#038;url=https%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F218788915&#038;show_artwork=true&#038;maxheight=960&#038;maxwidth=640&#038;secret_token=s-Nv9aT\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Taken from <strong>The Hanging Stars<\/strong> forthcoming single &#8216;The House On The Hill&#8217;, which is due out on Great Pop Supplement on 23rd October.<\/p>\n<p>London based psych country outfit The Hanging Stars sound like the\u00a0missing link between between the California desert sun and the grey skies of London Town, the tracks were laid down between LA and Walthamstow, each of these vastly different cities leaving an indelible mark on the recordings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEndlessly Aimless\u201d were recorded in Lake Hollywood, LA with\u00a0<strong>Rob Campanella<\/strong>\u00a0(The Quarter After, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Tyde, GospelbeacH etc) and features San Fransiscan legend\u00a0<strong>Chrystof Certik<\/strong>\u00a0on lead guitar.<\/p>\n<p>The A-side &#8216;The House On The Hill&#8217; is a murder ballad about a poor girl who drowns herself in the sea after\u00a0having her heart broken. Partly a true story, the track was also inspired by an entry in a book of traditional songs gathered by folk music archivist\u00a0<strong>Alan Lomax<\/strong>.
