INTERVIEW WITH THE BAND IN ISSUE #54<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Available now as a free download from the band\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/THECORAL.CO.UK\">website<\/a>,\u00a0<em>Chasing The Tail Of A Dream\u00a0<\/em>is the first taste of The Coral\u2019s new album\u00a0<em>Distance Inbetween<\/em>, the influential Hoylake five-piece\u2019s first album of original material since 2010. The track is also available as an instant grat with the digital album pre-order.<\/p>\n<p>A limited edition (1000 copies) 7 inch of\u00a0<em>Chasing The Tail Of A Dream<\/em>, numbered and signed by the band and backed with new track\u00a0<em>Unforgiven<\/em>, is available from the\u00a0band&#8217;s site, where you can to also pre-order\u00a0<em>Distance Inbetween<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Since their debut EP release in 2001 The Coral have sold over a million UK albums, with five reaching the Top 10 including 2003\u2019s chart-topping\u00a0<em>Magic And Medicine<\/em>. Their eight Top 40 singles include &#8216;Dreaming Of You&#8217;, &#8216;In The Morning&#8217;, &#8216;Pass It On&#8217;, and &#8216;Don\u2019t Think You\u2019re The First&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Recorded at Liverpool\u2019s Parr Street Studio with co-producer Richard Turvey,\u00a0<em>Distance Inbetween<\/em>\u00a0was recorded live and mostly in just one take. James Skelly (vocals, guitars), Ian Skelly (drums\/percussion\/vocals), Nick Power (keyboard\/vocals), and Paul Duffy (bass\/keyboards\/vocals) are joined by Coral newbie, guitarist Paul Molloy, formerly of The Zutons. The seams of each of the album\u2019s 12-tracks are purposely rough-hewn and pave the way for a new visceral sound from a totally reenergised band.<\/p>\n<p>On\u00a0<em>Distance Inbetween<\/em>\u00a0listeners are invited into The Coral\u2019s world of Richard Yates\u2019 books, Alan Moore comics, \u201980s\u00a0toys, the sound of krautrock compilations and Muddy Waters\u2019 <em>Electric Mud<\/em>, and Gregory Crewdson\u2019s darkly beautiful photography. The album is dedicated to Alan Wills, The Coral\u2019s early mentor and Deltasonic label boss who tragically lost his life in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>To coincide with the album release The Coral will head out on a UK tour, including a show at London\u2019s O2 Shepherd\u2019s Bush Empire on 16th\u00a0March. The band will then tour Europe in April before returning to their hometown to headline Liverpool Sound City Festival on 29th\u00a0May.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>The
