Paul Weller announces new album of cover versions ‘Find El Dorado’
PAUL WELLER’s cover versions… the Shindig! selection. ANDY MORTEN chooses 20 of the best from the prolific artist’s recent past.

Yesterday’s exciting announcement that Paul Weller’s next album Find El Dorado will be a set of covers – his second, following 2004’s Studio 150 – had us eagerly digesting the tracklist, which includes Shindig!-friendly deep cuts by Richie Havens, The Flying Burrito Brothers, Bee Gees, Duncan Browne and more. Versions of UK art-pop songwriter Brian Protheroe’s 1974 hit ‘Pinball’ and obscure French band The Guerillas’ 1969 folk-funk gem ‘Lawdy Rolla’ are available on your favourite streaming platforms now, with a limited seven-inch in nifty replica company sleeve to follow on 20th June.
While we wait, enjoy our 20-track dip into songs covered by Weller live and in the studio during his 33-year solo career.
Find El Dorado is out on 25th July on Parlophone
